The relase of the album marks the five year anniversary of the release of the film and contains 38 tracks which follow the trajectory of Acosta’s life. Militant, passionate and psychedelic, Drake and Cohen’s score flips through genres like thumbing through used vinyl at a thrift store. The score acts like a set of sonic postcards that add both place and time as we follow Acosta from his childhood in rural Texas, to his time in the military, then to Central America as a pastor, a Los Angeles County Lawyer, a run as LA Mayor, psychedlic ‘sidekick,’ husband, loner, and finally ‘disappeared.’
